We make dandelions from foamiran. DIY foamiran dandelion

11.12.2019

Not enough flowers at home? Do you want something sunny? Make yourself a sunny flower of foamiran. To do this, you need a little magic, a little skill and a bit of desire.

How to make a dandelion from foamiran

For this we need:

1. Chinese foamiran yellow and light green (in any case, any other foamiran may be suitable)

2. Hot glue (second also will be suitable)

3. Toothpick or orange stick

4. Scissors

5. The wire

6. Tape tape (floristic tape)

Step 1. Cut a strip of yellow foamiran 1.5 - 2 centimeters. The longer the strip, the more magnificent the dandelion will be. For a bud, you need a strip of 5 centimeters, and for an opened flower, 20-25 centimeters.

Step 2. Using scissors, you need to make a fringe from the strip. For this, thin parallel strips should be cut without cutting to the edge. The thinner the strips, the more natural and beautiful the flower will be.

Step 3. If the color is not bright enough or you want more shades, then you can paint the fringe using pastel. You need to wet a cotton swab (or take a damp cloth) and rub it against the chalk, after which, by smoothly moving along the workpiece, “tint” it.

Step 4. To make the petals of the flower more real they need to be processed on the iron. It should be without steam. Once the iron is hot enough, you need to attach a strip to the iron and wait until the strip begins to lag behind the iron. While the fringe is warm, you need to rub it between your palms. So that it is a little folded in some places.

Step 5. Now you need to take the wire, it should be quite rigid. If its density is not enough, then twist it several times. Wrap the wire with floral tape, pulling it tightly. Next, you should expand the workpiece so that the strips stick out from you. Spread one of the edges with glue and attach the wire. It is necessary to wrap and constantly glue, do not spare the glue! (Pay attention to the fringe sticking out, not inside)

Step 6. Using a stencil, cut out a cruciform sepal from green foamiran. (they should be wide enough (0.7-1 centimeters) and about 1.5 centimeters long; there should be notches at the ends of the sepals.) This will be the sepals for the bud

Step 7. A fluffy dandelion needs another sepal. From a green foamiran we cut out a circle. We make denticles along the edge.

Step 8. To make the flower seem real, use the pastel to tint the edges with swamp green chalk. You can also add blue and brown. (Toning in different places) - optional

Step 9. What is characteristic of all flowers is leaves. And the dandelion has leaves. We cut an elongated sheet with a height of 15 centimeters, and make denticles of different heights along the edge.

Step 10. On the iron should process all the workpieces. A cruciform sepal should be attached to the iron (until it begins to lag behind the hot iron), then you need to press down with your finger in the middle until all parts of the sepal rise. A round sepal just needs to be put on some spherical object (or also pressed down in the middle). A simple sheet needs to be pulled out, folded in half and bent from the bend by an arc.

Step 11. Using glue, you need to glue the cruciform sepals to the buds (short strips), round to lush dandelions, and glue a leaf to each pedicel.

1. When working with foamiran, do not stretch it too much. Some foamiran stretches well, and some not very. But don't overdo it. Need to draw on its quality.

2. In order not to burn yourself when working with the iron, you can hold it with a stick or tweezers.

3. For tinting, it is better to use oil pastels. Its quality is more “waxy,” another pastel crumbles.

4. In addition to pastels, you can use acrylic paints (but only after the iron, otherwise it will end)

5. If you overexpose the foamiran on the iron, it will curl up and greatly decrease.

6. Only white foamiran and any materials for tinting are available.

7. You can use a candle or a lighter to heat the foamiran;

8. Bulks can be used to shape the foamiran.

9. To make a bulka, you need to attach a bead to a long skewer (they can be of different sizes)

10. Dandelions can be used not only as interior decor, but also as decoration. You can make a brooch, a hairpin, decorate an elastic band, stick it to a hairpin, make a rim or a wreath, and so on ...

11. Also, they can be used as a decor for a notebook, album, decorative elements are very necessary in scrapbooking.

12. An interesting solution would be to paste dandelions over a mug, which would be a great gift.

13. As well as a memorable gift, you can give a magnet decorated with dandelions.

14. Of these, you can make a panel or picture, complementing it with any decorative elements.

15. No smart wrapping paper? It is easy to decorate it yourself! Take cheap craft paper, pack a gift. Glue a few dandelions on top. This will be a pleasant surprise for the recipient.

Such flowers can be a great decoration in the kitchen, in the hallway, in the bedroom or in the guest room. But for this they must be turned into a composition, to create an image. "Cut this uncut diamond."

How to make a dandelion composition

We will need:

1. A small jar (a glass from under toothpicks will do)

2. Sisal (or any other material that mimics grass)

3. Dandelions

5. Hot glue (universal glue also works, second glue will not work)

6. Ruler

7. Foamiran

8. Scissors

9. Gypsum (building)

11. A piece of foam

Step 1 Mix the gypsum and water in a proportion of 2 (gypsum) to 1 (water). Pour into the prepared jar not completely (2 centimeters to the edge)

Step 2 Measure the height of your jar and mark it on the foamiran. After that, you need to wrap the jar with foamiran to find out the length of the strip. Choose the color of foamiran to your taste and color (for example: the color of the room, the color of dandelions that are available, and so on ...).

Step 3 Cut the strip to the appropriate size. And cut a thin strip of 1-1.5 centimeters wide, and long equal to a wide strip.

Step 4 Glue the jar with foamiran and glue a thin strip along the upper edge.

In the absence of the right vessel, you can purchase a ready-made plastic or ceramic pot. In the future, you can decorate it with ribbon or lace.

Step 5 Trim the foam cans by volume. And stick it inside.

Step 6 Now you need to imitate the grass. The easiest way is to fluff up the sisal and stick to the foam. But! If for objective reasons you do not have it, then there are two more options. First: stick velvet paper. Second: finely chop the green foamiran, cover the foam with glue (leaving holes for the flowers) and sprinkle with green “powder”

Step 7 Glue dandelions into the prepared holes.

Step 8 Add a decorative ornament, in this case an apple. You can also glue a ladybug or butterfly.

So in a short time you can create a universal decor that will add a warm atmosphere and a drop of sunshine to your home. Not for nothing, dandelion is considered a sunny flower. Do it! Do it! Dream!

The long-awaited spring came, and the soul wanted something juicy, light, warm, sunny. So these flowers were born - bright yellow and airy white dandelions.

Artificial flowers are a good option for apartment decoration: beautiful, durable and aesthetically pleasing. In addition, a composition of flowers is a great option for crafts in a kindergarten or school. Children will surely enjoy working with foamiran, and adults will have the opportunity to share the joy of creativity with family!

Master class “Yellow and white dandelions from foamiran and plastic”

Materials and tools:

  • foamiran (he is fom, he is EVA, he is also foam rubber, he is plastic suede);
  • two colors: green and yellow. Approximate consumption: A4 sheet of each color;
  • ordinary and manicure scissors;
  • floristic wire;
  • iron;
  • glue gel super MOMENT;
  • pastel;
  • ear sticks white
  • beads (preferably transparent or white);
  • tubules for a cocktail (green, or yellow, or transparent);
  • desire to create and good mood 🙂

Level of difficulty: for newbies

Work Stages:

White dandelions

1.   We take ear sticks, we clear them of cotton wool, cut in half. We take manicure scissors and make cuts from one end.

2.   We put a bead on the wire, dropping a little glue in the middle to fix it.

3.   Using glue, we create a dandelion inflorescence from prepared umbrellas (halves of ear sticks). Sequentially glue the entire bead.

4.   Now take a straw for a cocktail. I did not find the perfect color, so I got out like this: I inserted green into the yellow tube. It turned out super!

We cut a piece of green foamiran 2.5 cm × 3 cm. We do not cut completely.

Glue the edges of the tube.

We connect the stem tube and the flower. Put the glue in the middle of the tube, insert the wire into the tube and fix the stem on the white fluff.

Yellow dandelions. Fully Opened Flowers

5.   Cut off the yellow strips 3 cm × 30 cm. Make cuts.

Cut the wire of the required length, bend the edge and fix on the edge of the yellow fringe strip. We wind the strip onto the wire, fixing it with glue.

Cut green strips 6 cm × 6 cm and 2 cm × 2 cm. Make cuts.

We fix with glue, fix the stem - a cocktail tube.

To give a dandelion a lively look, you need to hold it above the candle, while quickly rotating the stem and spreading it with your hand.

Yellow dandelions. Half open flowers

6.   Take the yellow strip 3 cm × 20 cm, green 2 cm × 2 cm and 5 cm × 5 cm.

I tried the option 4 cm × 5 cm (green bar) - it seemed to me a little, so in the process of work I increased the size to 5 × 5 cm.

7.   On a regular sheet of paper we draw the leaves of a dandelion pattern. It is better to make several options that are somewhat different from each other. Cut out.

Cut leaves from Thomas, circled patterns. You can immediately shade it with pastel, but this time I tried to shade it after processing with an iron - it also turned out fine.

I do not have mold leaves, but I found a way out. I use a convex pattern on a vase.

We apply the cut leaf from Thomas to the iron and quickly - press down on the vase.

We tint in pastel.

8.   We fix the wire on a leaf with glue.

9.   Well, finally, we come to the most interesting: we create a composition. We form a bouquet in a vase and admire the beauty!

I hope you enjoyed my MK. I'm still new to this, but I tried to show everything in an accessible and understandable way.

Greetings needlewomen! I haven’t visited last year, but your work is in full swing, there are a lot of new MKs - there is something to admire.
But I really miss the summer bright colors, the winter is fierce - it’s frosty, already the trees are cracking, then snowstorms - you won’t leave the house. It’s white and white around, but I want a summer sun, and I decided to make it, all the more so since there’s more than enough yellow foamiran in stock!

The guests came from sunny Krasnodar, brought a toy - for hair with an almost real apple. My daughter was pampered, the apple fell off - you can immediately see what not our craftswomen did. I decided to add a flowering dandelion to the rubber band in order to return her a pleasant appearance and value for her daughter.

To make such a flower is not so difficult, it would be a desire, so I’ll tell you in detail so that anyone can try their hand at foamiran art. To work, you will need:
- Bright yellow foamiran, dark green and scarlet foamiran;
- Curly scissors "Wave", straight small scissors with thin blades;
- Cotton swab, hot glue gun, iron;
- Colored elastic for hair, beads;
- Brush number 4, acrylic paints (white, black);
- Bulka (a device for extruding a flat foamiran), a high sponge.

From a sheet of yellow foamiran I cut off a strip 1.3 cm wide and A4 sheet long. On the one hand I make thin straight cuts in 2/3 of the strip width

I heat the iron in mode 2 until it clicks (I do not pour water), for 2-3 seconds I apply a yellow strip of the notched part to the edge of the iron surface so that the thin strips bend

So I do with a yellow stripe along the entire length, despite the fact that then the strip will have to be cut separately for the middle of the dandelion and the petals along the edge

I take a cotton swab, cut off the second cotton swab so that it does not interfere with work. I put hot glue all over the cotton head and begin to glue the yellow strip with the curved ends to the head, that is, up

I make a yellow stripe revolution, periodically gluing the revolutions so that the notched edge is even. It turns out the middle of a dandelion, where all the delicate petals look inward

We cut off the yellow strip at this moment, glue the edge to the previous layer. The remaining yellow strip with an incised edge will be glued on the contrary: with curved stripes - petals out

The edge of the opened dandelion is wider than the middle, so we glue the entire strip so that the flower is fluffy

Glue the end of the strip to the previous layer, fluff the flower

On the side, the dandelion should look something like this, and since the flower is still on a stick, it is convenient to cut off any irregularities from it - the lower edge of the flower should be slightly convex for gluing the sepals

Cut the stick as deep as possible - it is no longer needed, and so that its core does not interfere with the work, I just cut it

Cut a round sepal with curly scissors. The sepal diameter should be 1 cm larger than the bottom of the dandelion. We make incisions along the wavy edge of the sepal, process it on the iron so that the edges become smoother, and the sepal itself is curved. Apply glue to the entire surface of the lower part of the dandelion and glue the sepals with the concave side

Glued sepals should look like a hat on a dandelion

Now I had to make a bug - a ladybug, which I hope everyone knows. It took a bulka and a square of scarlet foamiran 2x2, which would need to be slightly warmed up on an iron

The sequence of actions: foamiran is heated on a warm surface of the iron, pulled to the top of the bouillon, inserted into a sponge and squeezed as tightly as possible. In general, it is rather difficult to make rounded volume shapes from foamiran, but small convex details can be made using a bulka (there is a bulka in the photo)

Inside the already elongated piece of foamiran we put two balls of different diameters - this is the body of a ladybug. Apply glue over the entire surface of the balls and glue foamiran, making a single figure. Here is such a nuance: after pulling on a bulka, the foamiran becomes very thin, so it can be easily folded, it will not be difficult to stick it exactly

We try on where the ladybug will be on the dandelion, but so far we are not gluing it

Paint the ladybug with a thin brush with acrylic paints: first we apply black paint, then we make eyes - dots with white paint. Top can be varnished to make the bug shine brighter

We attach large monophonic beads to the colored rubber band using a hook, fix the edge beads with hot-melt adhesive, the middle bead will walk freely on the elastic band

Tighten the middle bead to one edge of the elastic band, two edge beads will be on the second edge of the elastic band - try on the sepulch of dandelion, where it will be necessary to make a screed

Cut off a strip of green foamiran for screed across the sepals, under which the elastic will pass. Glue one end of the strip, put the gum folded in half and glue the second end of the strip. Cut off excess

Tighten the gum, check all the bonding places, remove excess glue

We glue the finished bug to the exact place where we tried to plant the ladybug

A dandelion with a ladybug is an original decoration for a girl’s hair. I hope you enjoy it too, like my daughter

Flowers from foamiran create a feeling of realism and naturalness, so more and more often hand-made lovers pay attention to this material. A step-by-step master class on making dandelion from foamiran will tell you how to create this realistic flower from amazing material for needlework with your own hands.

How to make a DIY turn-based dandelion from foamiran in a turn-based MK

Synthetic material foamiran is available in sheets with a thickness of 1-2 mm. Texture and color are very diverse. The names of this amazing material for needlework are also different: plastic and artificial suede, von eva, fom, foam, rev.

Foamiran has a number of important properties for needlework:

  • Non toxicity and safety.
  • Plasticity and ability to easily be modeled, taking the desired shape.
  • Reduced hygroscopicity (poorly absorbs moisture, products from foamiran can be washed with water - this will not affect the quality of the product).
  • Velvety porous texture (the material is pleasant to the touch, while the porous structure provides additional opportunities for extruding the necessary reliefs on the surface of the material).
  • Easy to cut, while the edge remains flat along the cut line.
  • A variety of colors of the material and the possibility of additional coloring with acrylic paints and pastels.
  • Easy to glue with any strong glue or glue gun

Foamiran - An ideal material for the manufacture of volumetric flowers. A foamiran dandelion will look not only voluminous, but also tender, airy, light.

A step-by-step master class on the manufacture of these sunny spring flowers consists of several stages:

  1. Preparation of necessary materials and tools.
  2. Making flowers and sepals.
  3. Making leaves.
  4. Build a dandelion from foamiran.

For the manufacture of a dandelion from foamiran, the following materials will be needed:

  • Sheets of foamiran yellow and green.
  • Oil pastels in green and brown.
  • Acrylic brown paint.
  • Iron, candle or lighter.
  • Glue gun or glue of strong fixing.
  • PVA glue.
  • Scissors.
  • Wire.
  • Polyfoam and flower pot - to create a composition.

Making flowers and sepals step by step

A sheet of yellow foamiran should be cut into strips 3 cm wide and 30 cm long. On the outer edge, make incisions with a step frequency of 1 mm, not reaching the second edge of the strip about 5 mm.

Warm fringe strips on the surface of the iron in the silk-wool mode so that the fringe edges slightly bend.

Cut a piece of wire about 10 centimeters long and, bending the edge of the wire in the form of a hook, fasten the edge of the yellow fringed ribbon on it. Next, wind the tape around the wire, gluing it at the base from the inside using an adhesive gun. The droplets of glue must be very small so that the glue does not come out during wrapping.

Cut the green foamiran leaf into squares: the length of the side is 6 cm, the length of the side is 2 cm. Then cut the circles out of the squares, making cuts around the entire circumference - these are blanks for sepals. The sepals should also be processed on the warm surface of the iron and, slightly twisting, rub with your fingers.

Leaf Making:
  1. On a sheet of paper, a pattern of a dandelion leaf is made. The finished flower will look more realistic if you make several options for patterning leaves that differ in shape and size.
  2. On a green sheet of foamiran according to the template, circle the blanks of leaves, cut them out.
  3. Heat each cut leaf on the surface of the iron and then press down to the mold with a relief of leaf veins. If there is no such mold, then you can use a convex pattern on a vase or draw veins with a wooden skewer or a toothpick.
  4. Use acrylics or pastels to add extra naturalness to the cut leaf, creating shades of color along the veins.

We turn to the assembly of dandelion from foamiran

The most interesting stage of any type of needlework is the assembly of the finished product from individual elements.

Using glue, we attach the flower and sepals to the top of the stem, and then fix the leaves on the stem. Cut off excess wire, fasten tape with tape.

At the final stage, you need to take the flower by the stem and, heating it over the flame of the candle, rotate it to evenly warm it up and straighten the petals on the flower and sepals during rotation - this will give the flower additional volume and naturalness.

The resulting dandelions from foamiran can be used to create children's jewelry: they perfectly complement hairpins, headbands, bracelets. You can create a floral arrangement. To do this, a piece of polystyrene is glued into a small flower pot with a glue gun, ready-made dandelion flowers are stuck in it. As a finishing touch, you can create an imitation of soil: pour sphagnum moss or dried tea leaves on the foam surface, lubricated with PVA glue.

And you can simply put dandelions in a vase in combination with dried dried flowers - this will create a sunny mood even on a gloomy winter day.

Video on the topic of the article

The choice of material suitable for the manufacture of a variety of fakes is very large. But one of the most popular is considered foamiran.

Foamiran (fom) is a thin sheet of foam rubber. It has a soft, silky, pleasant to the touch texture. It is easy to create any shape from it using a simple step-by-step algorithm.

Flowers from foamiran

Everyone loves fresh flowers, but not everyone can afford them because of the difficulties with their content. Living flowering plants require constant care, without which they simply die. In addition, pollen and aroma often cause an allergic reaction.

Artificial flowers can be a good alternative to living compositions. But not all artificially created flowers are able to delight in the same way as natural ones, but only made of high-quality, hypoallergenic materials that faithfully repeat all the elements of real flowers.

Neatly made foamiran flowers look very similar to natural ones. They are a popular element of flower arrangements, wreaths, or children's jewelry for girls.

Flowers from foamiran have some advantages:

  • do not require daily watering, like natural ones, they can be left for a long time;
  • do not crumble;
  • they can be washed or wiped with a damp cloth;
  • do not fade from exposure to sunlight;
  • absolutely harmless to children and animals;
  • constantly pleasing with bright colors, and not just during the flowering period.

Virtually no different from natural flowers, dandelions from foamiran. Making them yourself is pretty simple. You can decorate with such flowers anything:

  • walls, for example, in a children's room, kitchen or living room;
  • small sofa cushions;
  • clamps for curtains;
  • baskets and vases;
  • tablecloth, napkins;
  • summer shoes;
  • clothes
  • kids toys;
  • boutonnieres;
  • wreaths, headbands, elastic bands and other hair ornaments.

A panel of foamiran dandelions looks very realistic and natural. In addition, they will not fade and will long delight the eye.

When creating flowers from foamiran, it is important to choose the right material and follow the instructions for making a flower. Special skills are not needed for this, even a child can make a flower with his own hands.

Advantages of foamiran

Foamiran is quite common in stores specializing in the sale of materials for needlework, mentioned in master classes on creating artificial flowers. Recently, the material began to gain popularity. This is due to its advantages:

  • 1. Safety, hypoallergenicity, lack of a specific smell.
  • 2. Does not require special preparation for work.
  • 3. Ease of use, flexibility and elasticity, does not cause difficulties when cutting elements according to patterns.
  • 4. Able to stretch by 15%.
  • 5. Easy to tint due to its porous structure.
  • 6. Not afraid of moisture, washable.
  • 7. Does not respond to sudden changes in temperature.
  • 8. Not flammable.
  • 9. Does not wrinkle.
  • 10. Does not fade even with prolonged exposure to the sun.
  • 11. Suitable for children and adults.
  • 12. Long service life, the product retains its original appearance, even after a long service life.

Recently, it is foamiran that has been used for the manufacture of toys, flowers, hair accessories, decorative items of clothing, shoes and other fakes.

Making dandelion

In this master class we will make one of the very first summer flowers - dandelion. Foamiran is very malleable and pleasant to the touch material, so it is comfortable and easy to work with.

Creating foamiran flowers is pretty fun. To make a dandelion you need:

  •   green and yellow foamiran;
  •   green teip tape;
  •   hot glue;
  •   wire for the stem;
  •   scissors;
  •   iron.

Take a wire of such length that is suitable for a dandelion stalk. The thicker the wire, the more realistic the stem will be. Wrap the wire with a green teip tape. It is best if the color of the ribbon and the color of foamiran for the leaves are the same. Instead of such a tape, you can cut out a strip of width of about 0.5 cm from green foamiran, fix one end and wrap the wire. Then the stem will immediately turn out to be thick and almost realistic. In addition, there will be no need to select the color of the tape and foamiran.

Next, we prepare the basis for the petals of yellow foamiran. The size of the dandelion depends on the width and length of the strips that you cut out of Thomas. Therefore, if you make a whole bouquet, then cut out blanks of different sizes.

After cutting the yellow foamiran into strips, we make the ends of the scissors a fringe. At the same time, we do not reach the opposite by a few millimeters.

We heat the entire fringed ribbon on the iron. You only need to attach it for a few seconds so that the strips curl in one direction.

Glue the tape to the end of the wire and wrap it so that the fringe twists inside the flower. We fix each new layer with glue.

Cut the tape and glue the end so that the fringe is wrapped out. Next, adjust the width of the flower yourself. The more tape to stick, the larger the diameter of the flower.

Prepare the sepals of dandelion from green Thomas. Randomly cut it with scissors. It can have either 4 or 5 leaves with sharp ends. We apply the workpiece to the preheated iron for a few seconds. We also cut out ordinary leaves and shape with an iron.

Through the center of the sepals we thread the stem and glue the leaves to the bud so that the ends look a little and protrude. We attach each leaf separately so that the glue does not dry out while you are working with one of them.
