Weaving newspapers in two colors zigzag. Volumetric pattern "Zigzag" based on chintz weaving

11.12.2019

In today's informative master class, I will tell you how to make a zigzag from newspaper tubes, with my own hands. You will find a complete description and pattern study pattern, it is very easy to master and you should succeed. Just need a little effort and attention.

For work you will need:

- A product for weaving (a basket or some other braid)
 - Newspaper tubes
 - Glue gun

Getting to the study of a new pattern of newspaper tubes:

To start, weave some or in order to experiment with it with a pattern. It will be most convenient to do this on a braid with a square bottom. So, we have the product, weave several rows from the beginning.

Next, add one additional tube to each rack. These blanks will be leading. Then we bend from behind the neighboring tubes. Now you need to identify the beginning of the row, for this you can attach a thread to the tube and mark it with a pencil. This is necessary in order not to get confused and observe the rows of weaving.

Raise the workpiece up and glue it with a glue gun to the racks. This will be the beginning of the zigzag.

When you have swum a sufficient number of rows and think that it is time for your product to finish. You need to cut the tube, and stick the tip to the racks.

Then, you can also connect the two tubes and continue to weave further.

That's all, the new pattern has been studied. You just have to train a little to master it perfectly.

As a result of this informative master class, you have mastered a new pattern in the technique of weaving from newspapers. Using it, you can weave new, useful and interesting things in the technique of newspaper weaving.

On the pages of your site "Weaving newspapers" I want to talk about the needlework that I am fond of. It is always open for needlewomen who know how or want to learn how to make beautiful, useful, original handmade items from newspaper tubes. A significant part of the site’s material is devoted to paper craftsincluding a rather young and creative kind of needlework, like newspaper weavingand decoupage decoration. But I'm not going to limit myself to this. This site "Weaving newspapers"it is intended for people who are open to new knowledge, striving to develop and learn, for creative and enthusiastic natures.

There have been many such people at all times. Weaving is one of the needlework that accompanies the life of people since ancient times. Wicker baskets, furniture, household items were an integral part of the interior of our ancestors. Willow baskets are still popular in any farm. Our ancestors loved to wear hats made of straw, to decorate a house with crockery made of straw, caskets, to entertain children with straw toys. Also used were the cattails growing along the rivers, chythorn, and other herbs for weaving mats. From these herbs very comfortable and beautiful bags and baskets were obtained. Various weaving techniques have long been used for dressing.

What can weave from newspapers

For those who have not tried the Zigzag pattern based on chintz weaving , we are addressing this master class.

The mastermind Irina Apenkina became the inspirer and active participant in the preparation of the master class. Ira, thank you for the generosity of the soul, very important tips and tricks.

When I saw the Zigzag pattern in the works of Irina Apenkina (http: //odnoklassniki..html? Start = 610), Anna Arkadievna (arkadjevna from SM- http://stranamasterov.ru/node/711429?c=favorite), Irina (IRINA_Irina from SM - http://stranamasterov.ru/node/739170?c=favorite), it seemed that only an “advanced” mathematician or a very experienced master could master it. Today I want to dispel complexes and indecision. Those who have mastered the usual chintz weaving can confidently proceed to this pattern.

We decide on the calculation of the number of base tubes. The first approach is to weave according to a given pattern (2 in front, 1 in, 1 in front, 1 in, 3 in front, 2 in). This scheme means that with a working tube we circle two racks before weaving, from the front side, then one after weaving, from the wrong side, etc. If you follow this particular scheme, then the number of tubes should be a multiple of 10 (the sum of all numbers) and plus or minus one more to offset the pattern. It can be 39 or 41, 49 or 51, 59 or 61, etc.

The above scheme is not a dogma. You can apply another combination of numbers, you will understand what I'm talking about when weave the first work with this pattern.

The second approach, which I recommend, is to determine the pattern when the wicker bottom is already almost woven. We consider the number of resulting tubules of the base. For example, I got 49 tubes at the oval bottom. This is 48 + 1. 48 = 8x6. I understand that the report of my pattern should consist of 8 tubes, and it will be repeated 6 times. Combination Options:

 1. 3 in front, 1 in, 1 in front, 1 in, 1 in front, 1 in (this is the combination I used in the master class);
 2. B in front, 2 in, 1 in front, 2 in (I recommend this combination in the case when you want to emphasize the contrast of the base ducts and workers, when we start the working duct in two racks, then these racks will be clearly visible from the front);
 3. 3 in front, 1 in, 2 in front, 2 in;
 4. 3 before, 1 behind, 3 before, 1 behind.

The common feature in all these combinations is that in each of them the sum of all the digits is 8. And the fact that each combination has at least one digit 3. It is this constriction, i.e. pulling the working tube in front of three racks on the front side of the weave and creates the effect of volume, relief.

About the other features of weaving the “Zigzag” pattern - directly in the master class.

Volumetric pattern "Zigzag" based on chintz weaving. Part 2.

Yours faithfully,

I finished my long-held dream - a corner laundry basket, Size - width at an angle of 35 cm, height 56 cm, I already use it in everything and am very happy

Not everything turned out perfectly and smoothly, but as they say - "I would know where you fall, I would lay straws."

So, that did not work out. 1. Racks are twisted from a whole newspaper sheet - in vain! - the newspaper is too soft for this material, as a result - the corners tumbled in, we had to align and stretch everything in different directions along the course of weaving. Therefore, the sides "walk". Conclusion: Racks are better to twist from a whole sheet of paper for the printer (copier, ordinary office) or hard magazine sheets.

2, I didn’t put a load on a perfectly flat bottom at the beginning of weaving - so the bottom corners “smile!” The bottom turned out to be slightly semicircular (if you look closely at the photo, you can see). Conclusion: You need to put a load on the bottom (bricks, water cans, dumbbells - it’s suitable everything that has weight), especially to the corners, so that the weaving does not lift them. And, of course, it is better to use a form. Then the walls will go straight and there is even a chance that the newspaper stands will not leave ...

3. Acrylic varnish was not enough for me, I had to use furniture, so in some places a basket of one color, sometimes in another, where it is darker, where it is lighter. Conclusion: Doing a lot of weight should at least estimate the number of coatings and stock up on them in sufficient quantities (well, if of course it is important how the work will look).

The process itself is in the captions in the photo. The triangular bottom and lid were made according to the book by N. Tolmacheva “Weaving from a vine” - everything is described in great detail and is accessible there. While weaving the sides (and taking pictures along the way), I realized that you can do a zigzag in different ways, so I'll post both methods at once. in the format in which I had pictures - they did not upload to the server, I had to change the format, this caused the quality of the photo (and without that not very good, it decreased even more). And yet, I wove it in a room awaiting repair (temporarily set up a workshop there, so as not to drag pieces of paper around the house), and when I saw what background it turned out ..... so don't judge strictly ...
