Everest. Climbing

Everest, the highest peak in the world, of course, is the dream of many. Some go there to test their physical capabilities, others - to conquer their body and thoughts. But all - they are ill and dream of him.

How to get into the group of climbers
To get into the climbing group, you need to provide a characteristic of behavior on those peaks where you have been, recommendations from a leader who has authority in mountaineering circles. My school - the Kamchatka climbers club “Kutkh”, whose leader is Bichenko Alexander, once asked us: “Do you want to climb Everest? Good, but have to work. Who will survive after training will be there! ” I survived and filed an ascent to the head of the Alpindustria company Abramov Alexander. He personally meets with everyone and makes a decision. I managed to get through this selection. I was included in the international team of 24 people, which was supposed to climb the summit of Everest in May 2007.

Geography and climate.
According to various estimates, the highest peak of the Earth is 8844 - 8850 meters in the Himalayas. It is located in Nepal and China, but the top itself lies on the territory of China. At the top of the Jomolungma (that’s the name of the mountain in Tibet), the wind blows at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and the temperature at night drops to minus sixty. Climbing can be on the southern slope or on the northern side from China. We climbed north, because, despite the difficulty of climbing this trail, permission to climb is easier and cheaper for us to get from the Chinese.

Climbing technique and physical.
To understand the difficulties of climbing, it is not enough to know about frost, snowstorms and winds. There is one more problem. At these altitudes, the air becomes discharged and it becomes difficult to breathe. In addition, there is no real water at the height, only distillate, and the body quickly loses its mineral reserves. At an altitude of 5000 meters, disruptions in the body begin: headaches and dizziness, general weakness, pain in the liver and kidneys. Therefore, much attention is paid to food and it is necessary to take special pharmacological agents based on herbs.

The climbing scheme consists in a constant climb with its constant discharge. A person must not only get used to height, but also learn to work there, adequately perceive the situation, overcome difficult sections, see the route.

Therefore, first we go to 5200. There is no longer vegetation and no water. We spend the night, and in the morning we rise to 5800. We camp. Feeling of deterioration. Everything hurts, I can’t sleep. Each movement is difficult. Despite the oxygen cylinder, you must constantly train yourself to breathe discharged air. In the morning we rise higher to 6400. Then we go down to 5200. Then again we gain altitude. And so up to 7000 meters. The higher you climb, the less you feel the romance, and the closer the serious reality of what is happening. At an altitude of 7000, the bodies of dead climbers begin to come across. The higher you go, the more there are. Physical condition is getting worse. It can be a miner’s disease, or just hallucinations. Hair may fall out in shreds. And the moment comes when you think: “God! What am I doing here?"

At altitude you feel a very strong dependence on each other. Come in pairs. It is very important to note at the time that a disaster happened to your comrade. After 7000, we go down again. 5200 is already a "children's camp." Only the forces melt away, the body expends what it scored before climbing. Then again: 5800 - 6400 - 7000. Now we are already sleeping at 7000. Then - down to 3800. We drink normal water, breathe normal air. And again - 5200 - 5800. Everyone is tense: you have to have time to climb 7000 during the storm in order to catch the moment of calm for 3 days between the storms, and climb to the top. Then another difficult section - 7000 -7900 meters, when climbers walk without respirators and breathe discharged air.

Incredible facts

As you know, society extols youth when our beauty and strength flourish.

However, many achievements require wisdom, long preparation and experience.

Here are a few people who have reached a certain level, and in some cases become notorious, much earlier than the rest.

10. The youngest serial killer

Many children are cruel, and antisocial tendencies in childhood can develop into serious crimes.

However, meeting a serial killer who has not yet reached adolescence is something out of the ordinary. The youngest serial killer recorded in the protocol is 8 year old Armadip Garden   (Armadeep Sada) from India.

The boy is the culprit   3 kills, including his cousin and sister, who were less than a year old, and the child of the neighbors, after which he was caught. All three children were stoned.

What exactly caused the boy to commit these killings is unknown. When asked in the press about the psychiatric state of the Garden, they replied that the boy "smiled a lot and asked for cookies."

9. The youngest marathon runner

Another representative from India, a boy Budhia singh  (Budhia Singh) at the age of 3 years became the youngest marathoner in the world.

Due to poverty, the boy’s mother was forced to sell it, and the boy was given in the care of the owner of the shelter and judo coach Biranchi Das  (Biranchi Das).

Once the coach, as a punishment for misconduct, made the boy run and Das ran for many hours. By the age of 4, he had already participated in 48 marathons. Despite his abilities, there were suspicions that the coach had exploited Budhia and was taken out of custody in 2007. Now the boy is in the state academy, and his coach was killed in 2008.

8. The youngest university graduate

Michael Kearney  (Michael Kearney) entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest university graduate to receive a bachelor’s degree in University of South Alabama, USA at the age of 10.

At 4 years old, he passed the John Hopkins diagnostic test in mathematics, without even studying, and easily graduated from school at the age of 6 years.

At the age of 16, he began teaching at Vanderbild University, receiving a master's degree in 17. By the 21st year, he already had 4 degrees in anthropology, computer engineering, geology and chemistry.

7. The youngest conqueror of Everest

Since Edmund Hilary  and Tenzing Norgay  made the first climb to Everest in 1953, thousands of people tried to repeat this difficult task. Conquering the highest peak of the world is a dangerous business, and about 10 percent of people die on the way to their goal.

Jordan Romero  (Jordan Romero) from California, USA became the youngest conqueror of Everest at the age of 13. This happened in May 2010.

But he did not stop at this achievement, and by the age of 15, in addition to Everest, he conquered the peaks of Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Aconcagua, McKinley, Punchak-Jaya and Massive Vinson in Antarctica.

6. The youngest singer to appear on the Billboard charts.

Now there is no shortage of young talents, but most musicians do not fall into the hit parade until they can connect at least a couple of proposals.

But everything changed at the beginning of 2012, when daughter of famous rapper Jay-Z and Beyoncenamed Blue Ivy Carter  (Blue Ivy Carter) appeared in a cameo role with the single "Glory" all through a few days after birth.

The song was a kind of expression of my father’s love for my daughter, which stated that "you are my greatest creation." As you might guess, the baby’s contribution to the track was minimal, since only a fragment of his daughter’s scream after birth was recorded.

But that was enough to become the youngest person to appear on the Billboard chart. Her place in the charts was indicated by 74 number on the chart in the genre Hot R & B / Hip-Hong.

5. The youngest officer combat training instructor

Since childhood Donnie Danagan  (Donnie Dunagan) was an actor, starring in films such as The Son of Frankenstein, and voicing the cartoon Bambi. However, this was his last role, as his parents divorced, and he was forced to work and seek refuge in a boarding house. AT 18 years  he entered US Marine Corpsbecoming the youngest combat training instructor.

He fought in Vietnam, was wounded, and attained the rank of major before retiring in 1977.

4. The youngest suicide child

The tragic record of the youngest man who intentionally committed suicide belongs to 6 year old Samante Kuberski (Samantha Kuberski) from Oregon, who hanged herself on December 2, 2009.

The girl was sent to the room after a quarrel with her mother, and she wrapped a belt around her neck, tying him to the bed. After her lifeless body was discovered, Samantha was sent to the hospital, where she died.

Although the police thought it was an accidental suicide, medical experts determined that it was a deliberate suicide, which led to many disputes about whether a child at this age could even appreciate the severity of such a decision.

3. The youngest billionaire

Many people dream of wealth and, at best, achieve it after many years of work or through luck. However, the advent of the Internet has led to the birth of a whole generation of young and very rich people.

The youngest killer, college graduate, billionaire and others ...

Society has a tendency to reverence for youth - it is during this period of life that our bodies are the most powerful and beautiful. However, many achievements often require training, preparation, and wisdom. We want to tell you about ten people who have achieved success, albeit in some cases very doubtful, at a very young age.

1. The youngest serial killer

Anyone who has spent more than ten minutes in the playground knows very well that children can be cruel. In fact, many of the antisocial tendencies that ultimately lead to more serious crimes manifest themselves at a very young age: an example is animal abuse — sometimes a boy or girl can even kill a defenseless animal.

However, finding a serial killer who has not even reached puberty is extremely difficult. The youngest known serial killer was eight-year-old Amardip Sada from Bihar, India. By the age of eight, Garden had already killed three, including his youngest cousin and sister. After the murder of a neighbor's child, he was taken into custody.

All three were beaten to death with a stick and stones. What exactly caused the Garden’s behavior is not known - the police in response to a press statement only replied that this boy "often smiles and asks for cookies."

2. The youngest marathon runner

Any parent who has at least once taken a small child for a walk in the park can confirm that the children are not too hardy. But a little boy named Budha Singh from Orissa, India, does not fall under this stereotype - at the age of three, Singh began to participate in marathons.

The child's mother, a paralyzed beggar, was forced to sell him. The boy eventually ended up with Biranchi Das, the owner of an orphanage and a judo coach. Once Das caught little Budhu for an unseemly act and made him run as punishment - Budha ran for several hours.

By the age of four, he took part in 48 marathons. There was some concern that Das was using Budhi’s abilities for personal gain, so that the boy was taken from his guardianship in 2007.

Now Budha is in a state boarding school, and Das was killed a year later in a random street incident. Interestingly, Orissa is also the birthplace of Faye Singh, the oldest marathoner in the world who ran a marathon over the age of 100 years.

3. The youngest college graduate

All young geeks, unfortunately, are characterized by rapid burnout caused by the huge amount of work and the complete denial of their own youth. One of these geeks is Adragon De Mello, who graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1988 at the age of 11. He was the youngest college graduate in history to receive a bachelor's degree in computational mathematics.

Fifteen years later, instead of changing the world in a secret laboratory, De Mello worked for The Home Depot, a network selling repair materials. His record was ultimately broken by a boy named Michael Kearney, who had graduated from college at the age of ten and received two master's degrees before he reached adulthood. Kearney later participated in the show "Gold Rush", in which he won a million dollars.

4. The youngest conqueror of Everest

In recent years, climbing Mount Everest has become an increasingly commercial enterprise: after Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay climbed Mount Everest in 1953, thousands of people managed to repeat the same achievement.

However, climbing still remains incredibly dangerous: about 10% of climbers die on the slopes of the mountain, trying to conquer it. Considering what experience is required for this, as well as the cost of equipment (sometimes it takes several thousand dollars to equip), it is not surprising that most climbers are middle-aged.

One of the youngest conquerors of Everest was the TV presenter Bear Grylls, who accomplished his feat in 1998 at the age of 23 years. But this achievement fades in comparison with Jordan Romero from Big Bear, California, who climbed Mount Everest in May 2010 - Jordan was only 13 years old when he conquered the highest mountain in the world.

After Everest, he also conquered Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Aconcagua, McKinley, Punchak-Jaya and the Vinson Massif in Antarctica - he managed to do all this before the age of 15. He is currently working on his autobiographical book, entitled The Boy Who Conquered Everest: The Story of Jordan Romero.

5. The youngest person on the Billboard chartThere is no shortage of young musicians, but not all of them fall into the charts until they are old enough and popular. Everything changed at the beginning of 2012, when Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of megastars Jay-Z and Beyoncé, starred in a cameo for her father’s song “Glory” the day after her birth.

The song tells about the father’s love for the child. It even contains the words: "The best that I created is you." As you would expect, Blue Ivey’s contribution to the clip was minimal, but millions of Jay-Z fans cried. This was quite enough to secure a place on the chart and earn the status of the youngest person ever to appear on the Billboard ranking. Together with the father’s name, the girl’s name for some time appeared on the 74th place among hundreds of the most popular hits.

6. The youngest drill instructor

Donny Danagan was an actor in his childhood: he starred in the 1939 films “Son of Frankenstein” and “The Tower of London”. True, his most famous role was the voice acting of Bambi in the Walt Disney cartoon of the same name. This was his last role in the movie - shortly afterwards, his parents divorced, and he had to work and seek refuge in a boarding house. At 18, he joined the Marine Corps and became the youngest drill driver in the world.

A military career brought Dannaghan to Vietnam, where he was wounded. He eventually received the rank of major until retirement in 1977. During his stay in the Marine Corps, Donnie kept his movie work a secret - this became known only in June 2005. Donny is now 79 years old and he says he has learned to value his fame.

7. The youngest suicide

Of course, the youngest suicide is a tragic record. They became the six-year-old Samantha Kiberski of Oregon, who hanged herself on December 2, 2009.

The first grader was sent to her room after a quarrel with her mother as a punishment, where the girl wrapped a belt around her neck and fastened it to the bed. After her seemingly lifeless body was discovered, she was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Police believe this was an accident, but state medical experts determined that it was suicide, which led to a debate about whether children at this age can even understand the consequences of such a decision.

8. The youngest billionaireMost of us at least sometimes dream of fabulous riches, castles and Ferrari. Unfortunately, the reality is much more severe: few of us become a millionaire, much less a billionaire. Most millionaires gained their wealth through a series of smart financial decisions or simple luck. Nevertheless, with the advent of the Internet, the number of very young rich people has increased. The most obvious candidate for the title of the youngest billionaire in the world at first glance is Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook - he became a billionaire at the age of 23 in 2007 . However, part of his fortune, Zuckerberg had to give to his college roommate Dustin Moskovits, who came up with the name of the social network. Despite the fact that Dustin has not been working in the company for a long time, his share as an owner is 6%. And yes - he is exactly eight days younger than Zuckerberg.

Most of us represent grandmothers as old women who tint their hair, bake cookies and send us 1,000 rubles for our birthday. However, several women became grandmothers, not even reaching the age of 20.

The youngest grandmother in the world is a girl named Mama Zi, who worked in a brothel in the town of Kalambar, Nigeria. Mom Tzu was eight years old at the time of the birth of her daughter, and her daughter gave birth to her child at the age of eight and a half years, so Mom Tzu became a grandmother at 17 years old - at this age, many girls from developed countries still do not even have time to lose their virginity.

However, this story happened in the 19th century, and there is no documentary evidence. A more official contender for the title of the youngest grandmother is Romanian Rifka Stanescu, although she became a grandmother only at 23 years old. The grandson of Stanescu, two-year-old Ion, is already engaged to an eight-year-old neighbor.

10. The youngest American veteran of World War II

Most 12-year-old boys are interested in games and, perhaps, a little girls, but Calvin Graham is the owner of a completely different character. Graham was credited with the U.S. Navy after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. At the age of 12, he participated in the battle in the Pacific Ocean - during the battle for Guadalcanal he acted as a hero and received multiple shrapnel wounds.

I must say that for the time being, the army did not know anything about his age. After he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart orders, his mother told the command that her son was essentially a minor. Instead of sending him home, the Navy command put the young man under house arrest in his own cabin for three months - for lying.

A childhood decision to serve haunted him for the rest of his life. Graham was stripped of his rewards and spent years fighting for medical benefits. In the end, he joined the Marines when he was 17 years old, but was forced to resign after injuring his back.

Over the years, various presidents petitioned for him, including Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton. Graham never received his Purple Heart back while he was alive - he was returned the award only after his death, 50 years after receiving it.

“The roof of the Earth”, it’s the Jamalungma, it’s Everest - all these are the names of the highest mountains in the world. She always caused a lot of emotions among climbers and became the goal of their life.

Among her conquerors there are both women and men. Their age is different: in particular, there are quite young people for whom Everest became the first peak. We bring to your attention the top 10 youngest of them.

Jordan Romero

An American boy who conquered Everest with his father at the age of 13 years and 10 months, for which the latter was repeatedly condemned by society. To date, officially is the youngest climber to conquer this mountain. This is largely due to the fact that the authorities of a number of countries have limited the ascent of children on Mount Everest. So, in China the minimum age for climbing Mount Everest is 18, and in Nepal - 16. It is worth noting that there are no restrictions for the maximum age.

Malawath Purna

On May 25, 2014 she stepped to the top of Everest, becoming the youngest girl from India to conquer this mountain. She was 13 years old and 11 months old that day. The young athlete was selected from 108 boarding students and met the hopes of the coaches, having managed to climb Mount Everest.

Ming Kip

Ming Kipa is a fifteen year old girl from Nepal. She became the youngest girl to visit the top of a mountain of this magnitude. (pictured right) She made her ascent in 2003, becoming the absolute record holder among the young climbers who climbed Everest.

Bear Grills

British traveler, television presenter of the television program "Survive at any cost." May 26, 1998 Grylls conquered Everest, at that moment he was 23 years old. Bear fell into the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Everest.

Pemba Dorje

May 23, 2004 climbed to the top of Mount Everest. He was then 25 years old. It was during this ascent that he set a world record for the speed of climbing a mountain. His time was 12 hours and 45 minutes. Today, his record has already been broken, but at that time he was the first to climb the Jamalungma so quickly.

Urobko Denis

A climber from Kazakhstan conquered Everest at 26 years old. He has the unofficial status of “Snow Leopard” and is the repeated champion of the CIS, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in high-altitude, technical winter class. As a world-class master of sports, Denis won the Golden Asian Ice Ax prize four times.

Mezova Karina

A climber from Nalchik who fulfilled the dream of climbing Mount Everest at the age of 28: she reported this by phone while standing on a mountain. At the top, the girl placed the flag of Adygea - in memory of the victims of the Caucasian war.

Omar Samra

He also joined the Jamalungmu in 2007 - he was then 29 years old. Thus, he became the youngest Arab and the first Egyptian to rise to this height.

Zhumaev Maksut

Honored Master of Sports in Mountaineering from Kazakhstan. The conqueror of all the eight thousandth heights of the world except Karakoram, which has become for him and his partners a "stumbling block." Everest Maksut conquered in 2007, at the age of 30. He is known for the fact that he climbed Mount Everest without additional oxygen.

Korobeshko Lyudmila

Climber from Russia, who first climbed the summit of Everest at the age of 32. This was not her first ascent. She is a translator by profession, but her passion for climbing led to her acquaintance with her husband and the transfer of her hobby to the profession. By the way, Lyudmila is the first woman from Russia to have visited Everest twice.

Mountain climbing is a way of life, not a profession. So say everyone who has ever visited at a height and saw the world from a bird's flight, having gone before this difficult path along rocks or snowdrifts. Climbing Mount Everest does not lose its popularity, despite its danger and difficulty.

In the middle of the last century, the mission “Climb Mount Everest” seemed impossible - before Edmund Hillary and Norgay Tenzing conquered its summit in 1953, other daredevils made at least 50 unsuccessful attempts to climb. Thanks to modern equipment, nowadays almost anyone can climb Everest, but even today, when conquering the greatest mountain, desperate things are encountered.

1. Nowhere younger

The youngest conqueror of Everest back in 2010 was Jordan Romero - at the time of conquering the summit, the boy was only 13 years old. The young daredevil ascended with his parents, and they walked not from Nepal, as the main part of the groups, but from Tibet. Nobody has beaten his record at the moment, and this is unlikely to happen in the near future, since in Nepal it has recently been allowed to climb Everest only after the age of 16, and in China after 18. But even if by some miracle it’s hardly a young talent will climb Everest, despite the prohibitions, hardly anyone will be able to reach the level of Jordan Romero, because in December 2011 this boy set another record - he became the youngest conqueror of 7 highest peaks of 7 continents.

Overcoming yourself

Mark Inglis from New Zealand was the first person to climb Mount Everest as an invalid. Both legs were amputated 20 years ago - he froze them during an expedition to Mount Cook, but even this fact did not affect the man’s confidence that he could conquer the highest mountain in the world. As a result, in 2006, the climber went on a journey for a dream as part of a commercial group, accompanied by the Discovery Channel crew. It seemed that fate itself was against this ascent - at a height of 6.5 thousand meters from a New Zealand climber a prosthesis broke, which was incredibly difficult to repair. However, Mark managed not only to fix the breakdown, but also to step on top of the mountain, which he had been dreaming of for so long. The climb took Englis for as long as 40 days, but the climber himself claims that he would be ready to go as much to achieve his cherished goal.

Climbing in the dark

Imagine wandering off-road and cold in complete darkness, when dangers lie in wait at every step, and you don’t even understand where you are going. Presented? The American Eric Weichenmeier felt like this, who in 2001 conquered the summit of Everest, being blind. The climber lost his sight as early as 13 years old, but on the contrary it prompted him to conquer new peaks, both in the literal and figurative sense of the word. Eric began to engage in freestyle wrestling, climbing and several sports, and also climbed the 7 highest mountains of 7 parts of the world.

Great-grandchildren wait

Japanese grandfather Yuchiro Miura is the clearest example of the fact that after 80 life is just beginning. At this age, he managed to set a world record, becoming the oldest climber to reach the summit of Everest. It is worth noting that Miura had already climbed the mountain earlier, and once he went down the slope (and this, for a minute, 8 thousand meters) on skis, which even then caused an increased interest. Now another grandfather will catch up on Everest - the Nepalese Min Bahadur Sherkhan, who plans to climb the mountain in his 84 years. We wish them both good luck and, most importantly, even longer life!

Mount Everest: “For 15 years I have lost 15 tons!”

Another Japanese man, Ken Noguchi, who is sometimes referred to as the orderly of Everest, has undertaken five expeditions to this greatest mountain over the past 15 years, but not at all to become famous for the number of ascents or to stand on top, feeling like the king of the world. The fact is that every time he takes an incredible amount of garbage from the mountain - parts of equipment, used oxygen cylinders and other rubbish that climbers leave. During this time, Ken managed to remove about 9 tons of garbage from the slopes - by the way, the Japanese took a small part of himself for himself, to subsequently arrange an exhibition and show how much the great mountain was suffering from the presence of people. It is worth noting that recently other environmental climbers also undertook environmental expeditions - for example, Eco Everest participants took 6 tons of garbage from the mountain.
