Easter history and traditions. Easter: holiday history and traditions

04.11.2020

In our country, approximately 90% of Orthodox Christians have never read New Testament(not to mention other Holy Books), but many of them sacredly honor all religious traditions, observe fasts. And such holidays as Easter or Christmas are celebrated by absolutely everyone, without having the slightest idea about their meaning and history of origin. Therefore, when you ask almost any of them a seemingly elementary question: "Why do you paint eggs and buy Easter cakes every year at Easter? What does all this mean?"- in 99% of cases, you get something like this answer:

What are you, you fool? This is what EVERYONE does. It's a holiday!
- Whose holiday? Why all this?

After that, your Orthodox interlocutor begins to bellow something unintelligible, get angry and brush you off. And further inquiries and clarifications introduce him to the state of the wildest bathert and popoboli.

But our grandmothers can still be understood and forgiven - they do not use your Internet, and indeed they grew up in another state where atheism prevailed. The obscurantism of the younger generations is more difficult to justify. In addition, few of them know that until relatively recently the church itself prohibited all these eggs, Easter cakes and other today's Easter attributes, considering them to be godless paganism.
In general, for everyone interested in these issues, I wrote this small overview post.

Old Testament.

Passover, or Passover in Hebrew, dates back to those distant Old Testament times when the Jews were enslaved by the Egyptians.
Once Gd appeared to the shepherd Moses in the form of a fireproof bush (Exodus 3: 2) and commanded him to go to Egypt to bring the Israelites out of there and move them to Canaan. This had to be done in order to save the Jews from starvation, since for 400 years of being in Egyptian slavery, their number increased sevenfold. And the pharaoh, in order to cope with the population explosion, even had to arrange a real genocide for them: at first he exhausted the Jews with hard work, and then ordered the "midwives" who take delivery to kill the Jewish male babies. (Ex. 1: 15-22).

But Pharaoh did not agree to Moses' requests to release the Jews. And then God-Yahweh, in modern terms, arranged a massive terror of the indigenous Egyptian population, in the form of pogroms, arson, murders and deaths. All these calamities were named in the Pentateuch "The Ten Plagues of the Egyptians":

Execution number 10: killing of the firstborn of the pharaoh.

First, Aaron - the elder brother and accomplice of Moses - poisoned fresh water in local reservoirs (Ex. 7: 20-21)

Then the L-rd arranged for them the wildest invasions of insects and amphibians (execution by toads, punishment by midges, dog flies and locusts (Ex. 8: 8-25).

Further, He arranged a pestilence for the Egyptians, caused dermatological epidemics, brought down a hail of fire, plunged the population into darkness for three days. And when all this did not help, he resorted to extreme measures - mass murders: killing all the first-borns (with the exception of Jewish ones). (Ex. 12:29).

In general, the next day, the frightened Pharaoh, whose firstborn also died, released all the Jews with their livestock and belongings.
And Moses commanded to celebrate Easter every year in memory of the day of liberation from slavery.

The exodus of the Jews from the devastated Egyptian lands.

But what has to do with colored eggs and holiday cakes?

New Testament.

It was in memory of those events that Jesus Christ celebrated in last time Easter in 33 AD. The table was modest: wine as a symbol of the blood of the sacrificial lamb, unleavened bread and bitter herbs as a token of memory of the bitterness of former slavery. This was the last supper of Jesus and the apostles.
(By the way, about another ritual associated with mass murder cloven-hoofed mammals, I will tell you before Eid al-Adha).

The Last Supper: the last meal of Jesus Christ with His twelve closest disciples, during which He instituted the sacrament of the Eucharist and foretold the betrayal of one of the disciples.

However, the Bible says that on the eve of his arrest, Jesus changed the meaning of the festive dishes. The Gospel of Luke says the following: “Then he took the bread, gave thanks to God, broke it and gave it to them, saying:“ This means my body, which will be given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. ”In the same way, he took the cup after supper, saying: "This cup means a new agreement on the basis of my blood that will be shed for you."(Luke 22: 19,20).

Thus, Jesus foretold his death, but somehow He didn't tell His disciples celebrate Easter in honor of His resurrection. There is not a single mention of this in the Bible.

The apostles and early Christians celebrated the anniversary of the remembrance of the death of Jesus, every year on Nisan 14 according to the Hebrew calendar (end of March / beginning of April in our way). It was a memorable supper at which ate unleavened bread and drank wine.

Thus, while the Jews celebrated their Passover as a liberation from Egyptian slavery, the first Christians had Pasca as a day of sorrow. Since over the next two centuries, Christianity has successfully gained popularity, rapidly increasing "its electorate" - the first contradictions began to appear both in the celebration of Easter and in the very date of its holding. But more on that later.

First Nicene (Ecumenical) Council.

Long before the advent of Christianity, the Romans worshiped their own God Attis, the patron saint of plants. An interesting coincidence can be traced here: the Romans believed that Attis was born as a result of an immaculate conception, died young because of the wrath of Jupiter, but was resurrected a few days after death. And in honor of his resurrection, people began to arrange a ritual every spring: they chopped down a tree, tied a statue of a young man to it and carried it to the city square with crying. Then they began to dance to the music, and soon fell into a trance: they took out knives, inflicted small injuries on themselves in the form of stab and cut wounds, and sprinkled their blood on a tree with a statue. Thus, the Romans said goodbye to Attis. By the way, they observed the fast and fasted until the holiday of resurrection.

There is one interesting moment in Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code, where one of the heroes tells in detail how the candidacy of Christ was approved "for the office of God" at the First Nicene (Ecumenical) Council, held in 325. This event took place in history.

First Nicene (Ecumenical) Council. 325 g. On it, Jesus was established and the reformation of the Passover celebration was carried out.

It was then that the Roman emperor Constantine I, fearing a split in society along religious lines, managed to unite the two religions, making Christianity the main state religion. Therefore, many Christian rituals and sacraments are so similar to pagan ones and have such diametrically opposed meanings "with the original source". This also affected the celebration of Easter. And in the same year 325, the Christian Passover was separated from the Jewish one.

But where are the eggs, you ask? We'll reach them soon. but for now one more necessary clarification:

Calculation of the date of Easter.

Disputes about the correct determination of the date for the celebration of Easter do not subside to this day.

The general rule for calculating the date of Easter is: “Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after spring full moon».

Those. it should be: a) in spring, b) the first Sunday, c) after the full moon.

The complexity of the calculation is also due to the mixing of independent astronomical cycles:

The revolution of the Earth around the Sun (date of the vernal equinox);
- rotation of the moon around the earth (full moon);
- the established day of celebration is Sunday.

But let's not go into the jungle of these calculations and immediately move on to the main thing:

Displacement of paganism in Russia by Christianity.

We will also not delve into the main historical sad facts of those distant years, so as not to turn the post into a kilometer-long treatise on the history of Ancient Russia - but only slightly and only on the one hand, we will touch on it, naming the main events that predetermined the planting of Christianity on the territory of our state.

Byzantium was interested in the Christianization of Rus. It was believed that any people who adopted the Christian faith from the hands of the emperor and the patriarch of Constantinople automatically becomes a vassal of the empire. Contacts between Russia and Byzantium contributed to the penetration of Christianity into the Russian environment. Metropolitan Michael was sent to Russia, baptizing, according to legend, the Kiev prince Askold. Christianity was popular among vigilantes and merchants under Igor and Oleg, and Princess Olga became a Christian herself during her visit to Constantinople in the 950s.

In 988, Vladimir the Great baptized Russia, and began to fight pagan holidays on the advice of the Byzantine monks. But then for the Russians, Christianity was an alien and incomprehensible religion, and if the authorities began to openly fight paganism, the people would rebel. In addition, the Magi had tremendous authority and influence on the minds. Therefore, a slightly different tactic was chosen: not by force, but by cunning.

Each pagan holiday was gradually given a new, Christian meaning. Also, the signs of pagan gods, familiar to the Russians, were attributed to Christian saints. In this way, "Kolyada"- the ancient holiday of the winter solstice - gradually transformed into the Nativity of Christ. "Kupailo" - summer solstice- renamed the feast of John the Baptist, which is still popularly called Ivan Kupala. As for Christian Easter, it coincided with a very special Russian holiday, which was called ... This holiday was a pagan New Year, and it was celebrated on the day of the vernal equinox, when all nature came to life.

Great Day: the most important holiday in the calendar of the Eastern and Western Slavs.

Our ancestors, preparing for Great Day, painted eggs and baked Easter cakes. But only the meanings of these symbols were not at all similar to the Christian ones. When the Byzantine monks first saw as people celebrate this holiday - they declared it a terrible sin, and began to fight it in every possible way.

Easter eggs and cakes.

There used to be a game called the "red testicle". The men took the painted eggs and beat each other with them. The winner is the one who breaks the most other people's eggs without breaking his own. This was done in order to attract women, since it was believed that the victorious man would be the strongest and best. Women had the same ritual - but their battle with painted kagbe eggs symbolized fertilization, since the egg has long been considered by many peoples of the world a symbol of spring rebirth and new life.

The beating of eggs was carried out not only for entertainment and play purposes, but also in order to appease the goddess of fertility. By nurturing her in this way, they hoped for a future rich harvest, livestock breeding and the birth of children.

According to one of the variations Makosh - Mokosh. It arose from the word “get wet”. The symbol of Mokosh was considered to be water, which gives life to the earth and all living things.

Some believe that the custom of baking Easter cakes came from the Jews, who baked their own Easter bread, which is called matzo... This is not true. Jesus Himself broke bread and offered them to the apostles at the Last Supper, but this bread was flat and unleavened. And the cake is made loose, with raisins, and sprinkled with icing on top, and then measured - whose type has grown higher.

This tradition arose long before Christianity came to Russia. Our ancestors worshiped the sun and believed that Dazhdbog dies every winter and is born again in the spring. And in honor of the new solar birth in those days, each woman had to bake her cake in the oven (a symbol of the female womb) and perform the birthing ritual over her. When baking a cake, women raised their hem to simulate pregnancy. It was considered a symbol of new life.

As you might guess, the baked cake, which has a cylindrical shape, covered with white glaze and sprinkled with seeds, is nothing more than an erect male penis. The ancestors treated such associations calmly, because for them it was the main thing for the land to produce crops, and women give birth. Therefore, after Easter was taken out of the oven, a cross was painted on it, which was a symbol of the sun god. Dazhdbog was responsible for the fertility of women and for the fertility of the earth.

These similarities between Dazhdbog and Jesus Christ: resurrection and main character- the cross, according to historians, were the main signs by which the Byzantine Church managed to successfully merge paganism and Christianity.

Maundy Thursday and the zombie apocalypse.

Unlike Easter of the first Christians who ate exclusively unleavened bread and wine, our ancestors celebrated Great Day in full: with meat, sausages and other goodies. With the establishment of Christianity, the church banned the use of meat for the holiday. However, once a year, meat dishes were treated not to ordinary guests, but to the dead. This ritual was called "Radunitsy":

People gathered in cemeteries on Thursday before Great Day. They brought food in baskets, laid it out on the graves, and then began to loudly and drawlingly call their dead, ask them to return to the world of the living, and taste delicious food. It was believed that it was on the Thursday before Great Day that the ancestors left the earth and stayed with living people until the next Sunday after the holiday. At this time, they could not be called dead, because they hear everything they talk about and can be offended. People carefully prepared for the "meeting" with relatives: they appeased the brownies with small sacrifices, hung up charms and cleaned their homes.

To date, this completely unkind holiday has been divided into two joyful ones: on Maundy Thursday, when the housewives arrange a general cleaning in the house, and on Wire Sunday, when all our bins rush to the cemeteries in a united crowd and spread colored eggs and cakes on the graves of their relatives.

But this change did not come immediately. They fought against pagan rituals for a long time and fiercely, and in the 16th century even Ivan the Terrible joined this struggle, who tried to get rid of dual faith. In pursuance of the decrees of Ivan the Terrible, priests began to oversee the religious order and even spy. But this did not help, the people still honored their traditions, and as before, people continued to perform pagan rituals in their homes, and went to church before our eyes. And the church gave up. In the 18th century pagan symbols were declared Christian, they even invented a divine origin. So the eggs of fertility became a symbol of Christ's Resurrection, and the bread of Dazhdbog turned into a symbol of Jesus Christ.

Epilogue.

Now, brothers and sists, you know almost everything about Easter. It remains only to draw a small parallel.
Over the centuries, Easter, like our Victory Day, has turned from a Day of Mourning for the Dead - into a festive bacchanalia. Almost no one already knows and does not remember how it all began and why all this is needed. Just another festive day, from which you can swell orthodoxy and go with impunity into the hellish Christian drunken carbon monoxide breakaway.

Now you will KNOW what to drink for. And whether to drink at all. After all, perhaps for someone this day will turn out to be a day of sorrow. Or a day of big gloomy thoughts ...

Easter Is one of the main Christian church holidays for believers in Russia and the whole world. The celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord in Russia has its own centuries-old traditions and customs. People are waiting for Easter with special impatience and inner trepidation, because it is a double joy: the resurrection of the Savior of the human race, crucified on the cross, and the arrival of spring, symbolizing the renewal of all living things. Easter has many names: "The Resurrection of the Lord", "Light or Holy Easter", "Easter of Christ".

The celebration of Easter in Russia is distinguished by a huge number of interesting traditions, customs, rituals that have survived to this day from ancient times. Despite the fact that Easter is a Christian holiday, its roots go back to the deep past associated with the pagan beliefs of our ancestors. In our Slavic culture, there was a special day before - the holiday of the arrival of spring, the birth of life, which was met in late March or early April, when nature began to awaken after winter. There were also rituals. Among men, it was customary to kindle huge bonfires in order to appease the Sun and gain his favor. And women chose the most beautiful girl having undressed her, watered her with spring water, decorated with herbs, woven flowers into her hair, this ritual ended with the "spring goddess" walking around the whole village with a plow, thus endowing the land with fertility, encouraging vegetation to live.

They began to celebrate Easter in Russia right after Prince Vladimir Krasnoe Solnyshko baptized himself and baptized our people. We know that not all Russian people enthusiastically accepted the new religion, they fought for some time for their right to remain pagans and continued to celebrate folk holidays, but over time they became imbued with Christianity. Although, the celebration of Easter, like many other holidays of Christianity, is often accompanied by pagan rituals, rituals that have survived from distant days, which have nothing to do with true faith.

But, the history of Easter throughout the world has even deeper roots. You can read about those events in the book of the Old Testament. The holiday of Passover was celebrated in ancient times by representatives of the Jewish people, after Moses brought them out of Egypt. If you literally translate the name of the holiday from the Hebrew language, it means "Deliverance". Of course, that Christian holiday should not be directly related to the liberation of the Jews. The history, traditions of Easter of Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox are associated with the events of the New Testament and the main meaning is - the triumph of life over death, which was confirmed by the immortality of Jesus Christ, who was resurrected after the crucifixion.

In Catholic and Protestant countries, Easter is celebrated a little earlier than in Russia, because in Orthodoxy, time is counted according to the Gregorian calendar, and the vernal equinox is the starting point. Easter falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. The day of the celebration of Easter is floating, without a specific date. Therefore, in order to know when Easter will be celebrated this year, believers look orthodox calendars... In order to observe all the traditions of the Easter holiday, Easter is made up.

Everyone knows that the last week before Easter is called "Passion", it is dedicated to the sufferings that Jesus Christ endured for the human race. It accounts for the most strict days fasting, during which the believers eat only bread and water, do not have fun, do not have fun, but only pray for the forgiveness of their sins. Together with the rejection of the joys of life and animal food, people are preparing for the greatest church holiday. On Holy Week, it is traditionally customary to clean houses, throw away all unnecessary things, and give the poor things that you no longer wear. On Maundy Thursday, a general cleaning is required, both physical and spiritual. On Thursday, Christians bathed at dawn in a stream to wash away all the sins accumulated over the year. And Fridays are allocated for baking Easter cakes and painting Easter eggs.

Why did the tradition of baking Easter cakes and dyeing eggs appear on Easter and what does it mean? The main Easter symbols of the holiday are colored eggs and Easter cakes. According to tradition, they must first be consecrated in the church. These are not just tasty treats, but also symbols of the Bright holiday, which have a deeply religious meaning, drawn from the Bible. According to legend, after Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, the apostles began to put a piece of bread on the table, when they ate, it was intended for the Teacher, who was resurrected. Easter cake is a symbol of that holy food.

The meeting place for the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ is the temple, where parishioners flock to the solemn service, during which the priest conducts the consecration of the cakes, pasta and eggs they brought. The Easter service starts from Saturday evening and runs until the morning, it is called "Vigil". Traditionally, it is customary to wear light-colored clothes for this service in order to hear good news... At midnight, bells begin to ring, announcing to everyone around that Christ is Risen, at this moment the Easter holiday is coming, and the believers follow the church workers with banners to the procession, during which the church is bypassed three times, and then everyone congratulates each other. This is the ritual of christianization, when the younger says to the elder: "Christ is Risen!", And the latter answers him: "Truly He is Risen!" Then they kiss three times on the cheeks. In the morning, after returning home, people set the festive table. Easter is celebrated in a narrow family circle. Some go to the cemetery on Easter, but as the clergy say, this is not worth doing because Easter is a holiday of joy, and the cemetery is a place of sorrow to commemorate the dead. Parent's Saturday which goes already after Easter. There is an expression that on Easter the deceased themselves come to visit you, and on the Parent's Room they are waiting for you at their place.

By the holiday of Easter follows Special attention devote to the preparation of the table. On the eve, believers prepare various treats that will rise on the solemn Easter table, however, due to the fact that Great Lent is still taking place at this time, they cannot be tasted until the resurrection. But on the Holy Feast, Christians will be able to enjoy clear, fish treats, taste pies, jellied meat, drink wine, treat relatives and friends.

According to tradition and Orthodox canons, Easter is celebrated for seven days - Easter week, and it ends with the "Red Hill" day, in ancient times in Russia weddings played on it. The fact is that only in this short period of time did the peasants have free time between Strict fasting and sowing grain crops.

Easter in 2018 falls on April 8th, in 2019 on April 28th, in 2020 on April 19th.

Let's deal with ... Easter!

Even non-religious people have probably noticed that numerous church holidays are celebrated more and more loudly in our life. The phenomenon of religious expansion is a separate, large topic. And in this material, attention will be paid to only one church holiday - Easter, which is considered the most important event of Christians. This year this holiday will be celebrated on April 20. By the way, in Catholic countries it is usually celebrated 2 weeks earlier. Strange, isn't it?

Our goal is to search for all truthful information about the religious holiday Easter. Analysis of this information will help to find out whose holiday it is; who celebrates it and why; what does Christianity and other religions have to do with it; what are the real reasons for introducing and imposing this and other religious holidays on us.

Why was it Easter that attracted our attention, and not some other holidays? Because this holiday is considered the most important among Christians, because a holiday with this name is found in several religions; and because between what is written in the Bible and what the priests say about this holiday, there are obvious and fundamental contradictions. So we decided to find out this issue once and for all. In our research, we will rely on the text of the Bible and on our analysis of this text.

2. Christian definition of Easter

In the Christian religion, Easter is defined as follows:
“Easter, the day of the Resurrection of Christ is the most main holiday Orthodox Church. It is in it that the main meaning lies Orthodox faith- God himself became a man, died for us and, having resurrected, delivered people from the power of death and sin. Easter is a holiday of holidays! .. "(site" Easter ").

“The Feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, Easter, is the main event of the year for Orthodox Christians and the biggest Orthodox holiday... The word "Easter" came to us from Greek and means "passing", "deliverance". On this day, we celebrate the deliverance through Christ the Savior of all mankind from slavery to the devil and the gift of life and eternal bliss to us. As Christ's death on the cross accomplished our redemption, so His Resurrection granted us eternal life. The Resurrection of Christ is the basis and crown of our faith, this is the first and greatest truth that the apostles began to preach the gospel ... ”(site“ Testament ”).

“Passover (Greek πάσχα, from Hebrew פסח - Pesach, literally from Hebrew“ passing by ”); in Christianity also the Resurrection of Christ (Greek Η Ανάστασις του Ιησού Χριστού) - the oldest Christian holiday; the most important holiday of the liturgical year. Installed in honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. At present, its date in each specific year is calculated according to the lunisolar calendar (rolling holiday) ... "(Wikipedia).

If you do not take into account the frank verbiage that religious sites sin, then it is written here that this "ancient Christian holiday" was established in honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, this is a lie. The Easter holiday was established much earlier and for a completely different reason! And originally it was established not for Christians, but for the Jews. And if Easter were the holiday of the resurrection of Jesus, and not of his murder, then everywhere Jesus Christ would have to be depicted, and not dying in torment on the cross. Our priests also lie to us when they claim that the resurrection of Jesus is “the main event of the year for Orthodox Christians”! The Bible clearly says that Easter existed even before the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ! We will show and prove it a bit later ...

In addition, it is necessary to clearly and unambiguously understand the term "Orthodox Christianity".

Orthodoxy has never had anything to do with any religion. Orthodoxy is a part of the Vedic worldview, the Vedic way of life of our Slavic-Aryan Ancestors. But not religion. There has never been a religion in Russia. Orthodoxy is life according to the Rule, according to the rules, the observance of which ensured continuous evolutionary development. This is the fundamental difference between Orthodoxy and any religion: Orthodoxy leads people upward, along the path of development and cognition; and religion pushes people down to fanaticism and degradation - to prayers and endless begging for everything necessary from another God.

The first religion that appeared in Russia was the Cult of Dionysius (Greek religion), which was called Christianity only in the Middle Ages, or rather, in the 16th century. And Orthodoxy has existed for over 10 thousand years. It was created to help in the development of people who survived after the world nuclear war and the ensuing planetary catastrophe that occurred about 13 thousand years ago. Then there was a turn of the earth's axis, and the "great flood", and "nuclear winter", and almost complete savagery of all who survived after this horror. Almost everything was destroyed, and the task was to at least survive.

Knowledge was quickly forgotten and lost as unnecessary. And then those of our Ancestors who managed to evacuate from the planet in time on Whitemans, Whitemars and through the Gates of the Interworld, came up with a set of simple Rules for the survivors, the observance of which made it possible not to descend to the level of intelligent animals, but gradually return to their own high level evolutionary development that the Slavic-Aryans had before the Catastrophe. This is Orthodoxy. It has nothing to do with Christianity or any other religion ...

And the fact that the churchmen began to call themselves "Orthodox Christians" is a trick, or, more simply, a deception. They diligently destroyed the truthful information about Orthodoxy, and hoped that the flock would always stupidly and obediently follow the shepherds of the Jewish god Jehovah. And it was for a while. But now everything has changed radically. The adverse impact on Humanity of the "Night of Svarog" ended, and people began to wake up from the mental sleep in which they had been immersed for the last thousand years.

In addition, other important events took place that were of decisive importance not only for our planet, but also for millions of other inhabited planets and civilizations in the Universe.

3. The Jewish definition of the holiday of Passover (Passover)

In the Jewish religion (Judaism), the holiday of Passover (Passover) is defined as follows:
“Passover (Hebrew פֶּסַח, literally“ passed, bypassed ”, in the Ashkenazi pronunciation - Passover / Peisokh; Aram. פִּסְחָא, Pischa; in Greek and Russian - Passover) is the central Jewish holiday in memory of the Exodus from Egypt. It begins on the 15th day of the spring month of Nisan and is celebrated for 7 days in Israel and 8 outside Israel ... In memory of these events in Jerusalem, it was ordered to perform a ritual slaughter of a one-year-old male lamb, without blemish, which should have been baked on fire and eaten completely ... "(Wikipedia).

As can be seen from this definition, among the Jews the Passover feast was appointed in order to thank Jehovah God with sacrifices for the fact that he allegedly spared the Jewish firstborn when he killed everyone else in Egypt (the so-called 10th execution). The Bible says about it this way: the Jewish slaves were ordered by their God to slaughter the lambs, and to anoint the doors of their houses with their blood, so that the angels, when they carry out mass executions, could distinguish the houses of “their own” from the houses of the Egyptians. And supposedly for this service, the Jews to this day thank their God with sacrifices and call it the word "Passover" ...

4. Where did the Christian holiday of Easter come from?

As can be seen from these definitions, the reasons for the appearance of both the Christian and Jewish holidays of Easter are completely different. Moreover, these well-known reasons do not correspond to reality. In fact, the reason for the appearance of the Jewish holiday of Passover is somewhat different. But we will not consider it here. Our topic is somewhat different.

But the reason for the appearance of Christian Easter interests us very much. It is generally accepted that Christian Easter appeared as a holiday of the resurrection of Jesus Christ after the cruel execution on the cross. At the same time, the Bible clearly indicates that the Easter feast existed even before the crucifixion of Jesus.

Firstly, in the text of the book of the Bible itself, we found one more peculiar Table of Contents, placed for some reason at the very end of the book (we mean the book “The Bible”, Publishing House “Bible Societies”, Moscow, 1995. ISBN 5-85524- 007-X). This table of contents is called "The Sequence of Evangelical Events According to the Four Gospels." We will not reproduce it in full (it takes 11 pages), but only some headings:

Works of the Lord Jesus Christ in Judea after His temptation in the wilderness before the first Passover
Works of the Lord Jesus Christ in Galilee upon his return from Judea
The ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ from the first Easter to the second
Events on the way from Judea to Galilee
The ministry of Jesus Christ in Galilee
The ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ from the second Easter to the third
Preaching and miracles of Jesus Christ in Galilee
Events from the third Easter to the fourth - Easter of suffering ...

And this Passover was Jewish. The text of the Bible says so directly: "the Passover of the Jews was approaching ..." (John 2:13).

From these headlines it is clear that the career of Jesus Christ in Judea and the surrounding area lasted a little over 3 years (from the 1st to the 4th Easter). After that, he was brutally killed - crucified on the cross. And then he was resurrected (he was really revived by those who sent him), and this event allegedly was the reason for the creation of the Easter holiday among Christians.

As we can see, here everything is strongly distorted and mixed: the priests say one thing, the Bible says something else, but in fact, the third or even the fourth took place. There is no doubt that the Jewish Passover existed even before the crucifixion of Jesus: the exodus from Egypt did take place several thousand years before this ritual murder. And it is believed that it is this event that is celebrated by the Jews on the Easter holiday.
But the attempt of the employees of the church corporation to affirm in our heads the idea that “Christian Easter” is not at all what the Jewish one is, is a very real attempt to manipulate consciousness, that is, zombie! This "holiday" is one and the same! Feast of Sacrifice! And to prove it today is not difficult at all.

First, you can find out where exactly the execution of Jesus Christ took place?

It's pretty easy to do this now. For example, to the query "Where was Christ crucified?" Google immediately gives out an article by Jaroslav Kesler "Where Christ was crucified and when the Apostle Paul lived", in which the author, after reading the Bible on English language, very convincingly shows that Jesus Christ was executed in Constantinople, and the churchmen - the creators of Judeo-Christianity - corrected the necessary places in various translations of the Bible to hide this fact:

“... Tsar-Grad, Constantinople or Istanbul. Tsar-Grad and its bald mountain Beikos ... - this is the place of the great tragedy, opposite Gul Gata - that is, in Swedish, the Golden Gate, a place that turned into Golgotha for Jesus Christ (there, by the way , there is also a colossal tomb, in which it is believed that the Old Testament Joshua is buried, who in the Western European versions of the New Testament is simply called Jesus, i.e. Jesus). So, according to the considered phrase from the Gospel, the Galatians-Jews crucified Christ in Constantinople, and not at all in present-day Jerusalem ... "

Another proof that the murder of Jesus Christ took place in Constantinople was found in the book of G.V. Nosovsky. and Fomenko A.T. "New chronology of Russia, England and Rome". They managed to calculate not only the place (Constantinople), but also the exact date this event - February 16, 1086! It was on this day and in this place that a total solar eclipse (a very rare occurrence) and an earthquake occurred simultaneously.

And Nikolai Levashov was able to find irrefutable facts explaining some inconsistencies that previously defied logic. In the 2nd volume of his autobiographical book "The Mirror of My Soul", he provides unique information that allows you to dot the i's in this specially confusing story. He found evidence that Jerusalem in the 11th century A.D. was in Constantinople - the capital of Byzantium. It turns out that the word "Jerusalem" for many centuries meant not the name of the city, but the place where the headquarters of the high priest was at that moment:
“… There have always been several Jerusalem, according to the number of high priests! Sometimes the ruler of the country and the high priest had their headquarters in the same city, then this city had a double name, the secular - the capital, and the spiritual - Jerusalem! .. ”(Chapter 5).

And in this book, Nikolai Levashov explains who Pontius Pilate really was. The Bible says that he was a Ruler, not a Roman governor. The 27th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew contains the following words: “On the feast of Passover, the ruler had the custom of releasing one prisoner whom they wanted to the people ...” (Matt. 27:15). It is written here that on the Easter holiday there was a custom to release one sentenced person ... And the custom is something that has been formed over the centuries. This means that the Ruler of the area where the trial and execution of Jesus Christ took place adhered to the established custom of releasing one of the criminals on the Easter holiday, which was probably celebrated even longer than the custom existed.

The trial and execution of Jesus took place in Constantinople, which means that the Ruler mentioned in the Bible ruled Byzantium (Romea), and not Judea, which, according to information from the Bible, occupied an area of only 70x80 km, i.e. like an ordinary mid-range city of today. In addition, in reality, no "Roman Empire" ever existed, and no "Romans" conquered Judea. This is documented. The tale of this Empire was invented in order to hide information about another, real Empire, which actually existed for many thousands of years - about the great Slavic-Aryan Empire, which in the Middle Ages began to be called the Great Tartary.

Nosovsky and Fomenko put forward the following, very logical version of who Pontius Pilate was: “The trial of Jesus takes place at Pontius Pilate, that is, at Pontius Pilate. The word “pilat” in the old Russian language had the meaning of “executioner”, “tormentor”, hence the Russian word “pilatit” - to torment, to tyrannize (V. Dal, see “pilatit”). Thus, the Pontic Pilate is the Pontic Executioner, the Pontic Tormentor. Therefore, it is possible that the evangelical Pilate is not a proper name, but an office.

Pontic Pilate is simply a Pontic judge, that is, a government official who administers the court and under whose authority the executioners are ... "
And further on the Internet, you can find in a couple of minutes the one who was the emperor of Byzantium in 1086 A.D., i.e. the one who was hidden in the Bible behind the title of "Pontius Pilate." At this time, the ruler of the Byzantine Empire was Alexei I Comnenus (circa 1048-1118), who was the Byzantine emperor from 1081 to 1118.

The 12th century miniature depicts the Byzantine Emperor Alexei I Comnenus with Jesus Christ.

This is direct evidence that Jesus Christ lived in the XI century AD and met with the Emperor Alexei I Comnenus. And direct evidence that he was executed in Constantinople are several paintings depicting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ against the background of the sea bay ...

Antonello da Messina, Crucifixion, 1475, Konrad Witz, Crucifixion.

Thus, we found out exactly when and where the execution of Jesus Christ took place: it took place in the capital of Byzantium, Constantinople, in 1086 AD. And now you can understand why in Byzantium of those years they celebrated Easter, who were sitting in Jerusalem, and, accordingly, why “on the Easter holiday, the ruler had the custom of releasing one prisoner to the people ...”.

In biblical times, the Cult of Dionysius dominated on the territory of the Romeian (Byzantine) Empire! Or, as it was often called - the Greek religion!

In all these religions, the Gods also died and were resurrected. All these cults were copies of the cult of Osiris and were created specifically in order to use them to divide people, zombify and unleash religious wars between them.

Thus, everything falls into place: and the celebration of Easter in Constantinople in the 11th century AD; and the presence of the custom of releasing a prisoner on a holiday; and the time of execution; and the place of execution. It remains only to understand that the "Christian" Easter came from the same place as the "Greek" - from Judaism, and has nothing to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

5. Why was Jesus Christ killed?

Oddly enough, this question can also be partially answered in the text of Holy Scripture, that is, the Bible. At first, reading the New Testament, you notice that the “voluntary” death of Jesus Christ was not entirely voluntary, or rather, completely involuntary. He was brutally executed! The Jews sacrificed him to their "God" Jehovah (aka Yahweh) on Passover!

The question immediately arises point-blank: how dare they execute the "son of God"? Would God have to immediately "grind them into powder" ?! Quite right! It would be so if God was the only one, as the priests claim, and Jesus Christ was his son. Or, if Jesus really was the son of that God whom the Jews regard as their leader. Then he would have shown them "Kuzka's mother"! Rather, then they would not have thought of killing him. It wouldn't be, for what! He would be from the same gang as the "daddy", and would act at the same time with him!

However, Jesus was executed! This means that he was not from Jehovah's gang, but was both his enemy and the Jews he zombified. There are even several wonderful passages about this in the New Testament when Jesus says to the Jews "... your father the devil ..." and so on. Consequently, there was no question of any voluntary sacrifice on the part of Jesus in order to atone for other people's sins!

Anyway, if you think about it: why on earth would a normal God suddenly allow to kill his only son, an heir, in order to redeem something for someone on some planet? Only people of a "religious mental state" can believe in this simple fantasy.

In fact, our priests are lying again! Moreover, they lie desperately, in writing, they lie to millions of their parishioners! They, too, have fallen into the trap of the Dark Ones whom they serve: if they tell the truth, the parishioners will scatter, and even cross their faces with crosses. And then the church corporation will become just nothing, an empty place. And they are already so accustomed to power, accustomed to eating sweetly and not deny themselves anything.

Returning to the question of the reason for the ritual murder of Jesus Christ, the following can and should be said. From the books of Nikolai and Svetlana Levashov, we now know a lot about the personality and life of Radomir (this is the real name of the one who was once called Jesus Christ in order to hide the truth about him). Radomir was the son of the White Magus and the Witch Maria, who had nothing to do with the Jews.

Unfortunately, the Dark Ones were stronger at that time. The bright Hierarchs who headed the earthly civilization were unable to adequately resist the cunning, meanness and treachery of space "jackals" and their assistants. The Jews seized Radomir and put him to painful death - they sacrificed to their God Jehovah just on the feast of Passover. And it was for this ritual murder of the Light Hierarch of such a level that Jehovah promised his help-slaves to get rid of karma during their centuries of service to Evil.

6. Why are we forced to celebrate religious holidays?

And really, why? Why are we being pushed in one way or another to celebrate many religious holidays? Are the churchmen really concerned that we have a good rest, that we are in a good mood, that we are healthy and happy? So that we have healthy, smart and happy children? In no case!

Oddly enough, churchmen try to keep their flocks in blackness, despair and despair. And they need it in order to break the will of people, the natural striving for Light and for Life. People with a broken will cannot resist anything, but can only ask and plead. This is exactly what our implacable enemies need - Dark Forces- and the church miners working for them for centuries. They zombify the flock with religious dope, teach them passivity and freebies (you just need to pray well and ask) and just cynically set everyone up. This is well illustrated by the gloomy church paraphernalia and the widespread advertising of the crucified and bloody Jesus Christ.

It would seem, why should everyone dwell on the process of torture during the ritual murder of a beloved and revered God? But this is the whole meaning of the Jewish religion of Christianity. By doing this, they maintain their hatred for Radomir, and at the same time accustom the goyim (non-Jews) to suffering, longsuffering ("Jesus endured and ordered us ..."), despair and hopelessness, just like the goyish God - Jesus Christ, betrayed by the Jews to martyrdom.

3. Siphoning off energy (life force) from many people

These simple conclusions can be easily drawn from the information found and analyzed.

A lot of pictures can be found if you google a picture search for a query with the words "SEMANA SANTA". You will be amazed at the results you get! You will see not only huge, maddened crowds of people, every year in a frenzy repeat the sufferings of Radomir during the ritual execution. You will see that Christianity is a religion of death, and you will understand all its mortal danger for each of us and for all Mankind ...

The Feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, Easter, is the main event of the year for Orthodox Christians and the largest Orthodox holiday. Celebrated on the first Sunday after the first spring full moon (between March 22 / April 4 and April 25 / May 8). In 2011 Easter is celebrated on April 24 (April 11 old style).

This is the oldest holiday Christian Church, which was established and celebrated already in the apostolic time. The ancient church under the name of Easter combined two memories - about suffering and about the Resurrection of Christ and devoted to its celebration the days preceding the Resurrection and following it. To designate both parts of the holiday, special names were used - Easter of suffering, or Easter of the Cross and Easter of Resurrection.

The word "Passover" came from the Greek language and means "passage", "deliverance", that is, the feast of the Resurrection of Christ means the passage from death to life and from earth to heaven.

In the early centuries of Christianity, Easter was celebrated in different churches at different times. In the East, in the churches of Asia Minor, it was celebrated on the 14th day of Nisan (according to our account, March - April), no matter what day of the week this number falls. The Western Church celebrated it on the first Sunday after the spring full moon. An attempt to establish agreement between the churches on this issue was made under Saint Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna, in the middle of the 2nd century. The First Ecumenical Council of the year 325 determined to celebrate Easter everywhere at the same time. The conciliar definition of Easter has not reached us.

Since Apostolic times, the church has been performing Easter services at night. Like the ancient chosen people, who were awake on the night of their deliverance from Egyptian slavery, Christians are awake on the sacred and pre-feast day and saving night of the Bright Resurrection of Christ. Shortly before midnight on Holy Saturday, the Midnight Office is served. The priest removes the Shroud from the tomb, brings it into the altar through the Royal Doors and places it on the throne, where it remains for forty days, until the Ascension of the Lord.

The procession of the cross, performed on Easter night, is the procession of the Church towards the risen Savior. The procession of the cross takes place three times around the church with the continuous ringing of bells and the singing "Thy Resurrection, Christ the Savior, the angels sing in heaven, and on earth make us praise Thee with a pure heart." Walking around the church, the procession stops in front of the closed doors of the altar, as if at the entrance to the Holy Sepulcher. And the joyful news is distributed: "Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death and giving life to those in the grave." The doors open - and the entire sacred host solemnly enters the shining temple. The chanting of the Easter canon begins.

At the end of Matins, the priest reads the famous "Word of St. John Chrysostom", which describes the celebration and meaning of Easter. After the service, all the worshipers approach the priest, who holds the cross in his hands, kiss the cross and christen with him, and then with each other.

In some churches, immediately after Matins, the Light Easter Liturgy is served, during which the worshipers who fasted, confessed and received Communion during Holy Week, can commune again without confession, if no major sins have been committed during the elapsed time.

After the service, since the fast is over, the worshipers usually break their fast (they eat fast food - not fast food) at church or at their homes.

Easter is celebrated for seven days, that is, the whole week, and therefore this week is called Bright Easter Week. Every day of the week is also called light; Bright Monday, Bright Tuesday, etc., and the last day, Bright Saturday. Divine services are performed daily. The Royal Doors are open throughout the week.

The entire period before the Ascension (40 days after Easter) is considered the Easter period and the Orthodox greet each other with the greeting "Christ is Risen!" and the answer "Truly Risen!"

The most common and integral symbols of Easter are colored eggs, Easter and Easter cake.

It has long been accepted that the first meal after forty days of fasting should be a painted egg consecrated in the church. The tradition of painting eggs appeared a long time ago: boiled eggs are painted in a wide variety of colors and their combinations, some masters paint them by hand, depicting the faces of saints, churches and other attributes of this wonderful holiday on them. Hence the name "krashenka" or "pysanka" appeared. It is customary to exchange them when meeting with all acquaintances.

Sweet curd Easter is always prepared for Easter. It is prepared on Thursday before the holiday, and on Sunday night it is consecrated.

The Easter cake symbolizes how Christ ate bread with his disciples so that they would believe in his resurrection. Easter cake is baked from yeast dough in cylindrical forms.

All Orthodox people sincerely believe in the special properties of Easter symbols and from year to year, adhering to the traditions of their ancestors, they decorate the festive table with these very dishes.

The material was prepared on the basis of information from open sources

The lightest and most important holiday for Christians of the year is Easter. Easter is the oldest holiday in the history of mankind and is celebrated from year to year on passing dates. In fact, Easter is a day of celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord for which Christians begin to prepare in advance, observing Great Lent.

Many people know about the Easter holiday, but not everyone understands where the main traditions of the celebration came from, as well as how to properly celebrate Easter every day. In this article we will tell you the history of Easter, traditions and how to correctly calculate the date of the next Easter according to a special calendar. Also in this article you can find delicious recipes for baking Pasok, as well as how to paint eggs correctly and beautifully.

Easter story

Passover of the Old Testament

The beginning of the history of Easter dates back to the time when the son of man, Jesus Christ, came to earth. We know this holiday as the Nativity of Christ, when Mary had a son - Jesus. At that time, the Jewish people were severely oppressed by the Egyptian Pharaoh, and all Jews without exception were in his slavery. The Egyptian king ignored numerous requests from the Jews to release them, and then ordered to kill all newborn boys in order to reduce the number of the Jewish people.

When Herod conceived such a thing, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph (Jesus' father) in a dream and told him to immediately flee to the land of Egypt with his wife Mary, which Joseph immediately did.

At the same time, the prophet Moses is born, who was hidden from the king and was not killed.

Moses grew up and became a prophet of God, through whom the message from God was transmitted to the Jewish people. So that every family would kill a lamb and mark the doorframe with his blood, for that night an angel came down from heaven and killed all the Egyptian firstborn.

After such a terrible force, the king of Egypt dismissed the Jewish people and since then Easter has been celebrated as the day of deliverance.

Easter New Testament

The Easter of the New Testament is known to us as the Easter that we celebrate to this day. Indeed, on this day Jesus Christ was Risen, who was slain like a lamb for the sins of men. In the distant past, after the coming of the Secret Meeting, Jesus Christ the Son of God was seized by the guards and imprisoned for calling himself "the son of God." He was accused of comparing himself to God, saying: "My Father always works, therefore I must also work."

When the guards seized him, Jesus Christ was awaited by arrest, trial, scourging, and then the execution itself - crucifixion. They crucified Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary and on the third day he exclaimed: “Father! Into Your hands I transfer My spirit! It is finished! " and gave up the spirit.

Pontius Pilate gave permission to take the body of Jesus Christ and his body was laid in a cave near Mount Calvary. And on the third day, Jesus Christ was resurrected, transformed from his Human Body.

Since then and to this day, Easter has been celebrated as the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, who died for all the sins of the human race.

Date of celebration of Orthodox Easter

In 2019, Easter will be celebrated on April 28. To understand how to correctly calculate the date of the holiday, you need to make some calculations. According to the Alexander Easter, according to which Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the spring full moon.

If the full moon occurs before the twenty-first of March (the day of the vernal equinox), then the next full moon is considered Easter. And if the Easter full moon falls on a Sunday, then Easter is celebrated the next Sunday.

Where did the custom of painting eggs for Easter come from?

It is a traditional custom for Easter to paint eggs red. Because Mary Magdalene came to the Roman emperor Tiberius and brought gifts in which there were eggs. Mary Magdalene uttered the words, handing Tijuberius a basket with gifts: “Christ is Risen!”, And he replied that this is impossible, just as an egg cannot turn from white to red, and the egg immediately turned red. Since then, it has been customary to paint eggs red, which also personifies the blood of Jesus Christ shed for us.

Easter traditions

Lent is considered an invariable tradition before Easter, which has strict prohibitions on many foods. In particular, you cannot eat meat, eggs, fish, sweets, milk, pastries, fast food and drink alcohol. Just before such a fast during the period, it is allowed to eat enough eggs and dairy products in order to prepare physically and mentally for such an ordeal in Great Lent, which lasts 7 weeks in 2019, starting on March 11.

In churches, services begin before midnight. The Midnight Service is served until midnight, and after that Easter Matins begins. And then the procession begins around the temple.

Believers on this Bright Day greet each other like this: "Christ is Risen!" to which the other person must answer: "Truly he is Risen!" and so three times. Previously, it was considered obligatory to kiss each other three times, and also exchange Easter eggs. According to tradition, it is customary to greet each other in this way not only on the Easter holiday itself, but also in the next 40 days after it.

Another unchanging tradition is to paint Easter eggs, bake Easter, and also switch to breaking the fast after Lent.

Also, a week after Easter, the Krasnaya Gorka week follows in which usually all young people have fun, and can also play weddings. And on the 9th day there is the Radonitsa holiday, where people go to the cemetery and commemorate the dead.

How to celebrate Easter

Preparation for Easter is preceded by three days. Thursday, which we used to call Maundy Thursday. On such a day, the house is put in order, and people also strive to wash themselves before sunrise in order to have better health. On such a day, it is advisable to cleanse not only the body, but also the soul, trying not to enter into conflicts, not swear, not swear among themselves, and also refrain from intimacy.

Also on this day, many people begin to bake Easter as well as paint eggs.

This is followed by Good Friday, which is the strictest day in Lent. On such a day, you can't do anything around the house, and you should also give up noisy gatherings, funny conversations, as well as any other fun. You can not dye your hair, use cosmetics, and you should also go hungry. Only in the evening Good friday you can eat some bread and drink a glass of water. The most interesting thing is that it is allowed to bake Easter on such a day. Therefore, you can leave such a case instead of Maundy Thursday on Good Friday.

Good Friday is followed by Holy Saturday, on which Easter services begin in the church. On the night from Great Saturday to Sunday, you cannot go to bed, but you must stand at the service in the church. If this is not possible, then you can pray at home. On such a day, people can paint eggs, the very first that is given by tradition youngest child in family. On Holy Saturday, dishes other than eggs are usually cooked from the very morning. Dishes can be different, including meat and fish, but they cannot be eaten, since Great Lent continues. On such a day, you cannot have fun, celebrate anything, and also marry.

Sunday - Easter. This day begins to be celebrated with lighting of eggs, bread, Pasoks and other food. The lighting of the food takes place in the early morning, creating huge crowds of people with baskets at the door of the church.

Various foods can be sanctified, but mainly Pasca, wine, preferably red Cahors, eggs, as well as other foods and even meat and sausages.

After that, the family sits down at the festive table, where they break the fast. The first things you should try are lighted eggs and Easter cake, and then you can move on to other dishes and drink wine, in particular red, but here it is optional.

Easter is celebrated for the next 40 days, during which you can enjoy festivities, fun, and visit each other.

Congratulations

Happy Thursday

Happy Friday
